"Same Time" is a work of appropriation; combining the analog manipulation of educational VHS tapes and digital editing, a new narrative and aesthetic is achieved. It mines out-of-date educational media to create a visual landscape paired with an auditory experience that alters thoughts on science, mixed with religious overtones present in the media. As part of an installation, this film was presented on a television from the same era in a continuous loop; attempting to create an environment in which the viewer felt both transported and nostalgic.
Appropriated video from About Time, PBS The Creation of the Universe 1988, Walt Disney Time Capsules of the Solar System 1981, Films for Humanities and Sciences The Complete Cosmos Black Holes, Dark Matter 1998
Same time was included in the Tele Visions Project that correlated with the shut down of analog television broadcast in Australia.
